We landed at Christchurch CHR Airport on an Air China flight in the early morning. Before departure, I was worried that I would be hungry after getting off the plane in the early morning, so I prepared a few buckets of instant noodles. There was no need to worry at all, as the restaurant at the airport was still open after 12 o'clock in the morning. There are 3 hotels near the airport, namely Novotel, Sudima and Youth Hostel Lylo.
Sudima is actually very close to the airport. It is about 8-10 minutes' walk during the day, and it is very easy to walk there during the day. If you arrive at night, it may not be easy to walk. There should be free parking at the entrance of Sudima, and the room rate is slightly lower than Novotel.
Novotel is right at the entrance of the airport, about 200m away. Go left from the Info counter (the restaurant is on your right, and there are many phone card sales on the left), and you can see it when you go out of the door. The staff said: you can't miss it
The hotel room only provides one bottle of free water, and the second bottle costs NZD5. If you have a cup, you can also fill it with water at the airport.
It is a perfect room for resting. The room I stayed in was very clean. When I opened the curtain that night, two large planes were right in front of the window. The luggage trolley can be pushed directly to the room and placed in the corridor.
The hotel breakfast is worth it, the staff is very enthusiastic, and you can see the whole airport. Have a good breakfast here and start your journey to the South Island.
